What is Jikiden Reiki?

What is Reiki?

The original kanji lettering
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word that means universal life energy, and is a hands-on energy healing technique first developed in Japan by Mikao Usui in 1922.

Reiki works for both physical and psychological issues by reactivating the body's natural healing ability. It is a relaxing technique that can be used alone, or with other forms of health care or therapies, to help speed up the recovery time and reduce side effects.

It is non-religious and will work whether you believe in it or not!

What is Jikiden Reiki?

The word Jikiden means “directly passed down", and describes a simple, effective and original Japanese form of Reiki that has been passed down from the traditional teachings of the 1930's.

In contrast, many of the western forms of Reiki have been modified for better understanding in western culture, and have lost some of the original teachings or added new ideas. However, if it wasn't for these western variations and their great promoting work, Reiki probably would not be as popular or as well-known worldwide as it is today.

How Treatments Work...

The client lies fully clothed on a massage table. The Practitioner’s hands are lightly placed on different points of the client's body, and the Reiki energy flows to where it is needed - it is safely absorbed, distributed, and balanced by the body to meet its specific needs.
